Overview:
The Marquette Downtown Development Authority (MDDA) is pleased to offer matching grants up to $250.00 to support the purchase of decorative lights for businesses located within the Downtown Marquette District. This grant program is designed to enhance the festive atmosphere of our downtown area, encouraging foot traffic and creating a welcoming environment for residents and visitors alike. Grants are available for light decorations displayed on the street-facing exterior of businesses or in windows that are visible from the street or sidewalk.

This grant program is available to businesses located within the Downtown Marquette Development District.

Decorations must be decorative lights and prominently displayed on the exterior of the business or in windows visible from the public streetscape.

The MDDA will provide 2:1 matching funds, up to a maximum of $250.00 per business. (Businesses will spend $375 to qualify for full $250 reimbursement.)

Decorations must be fully installed by 12:00 PM on Saturday, November 29, 2025, and remain in place until at least Friday, December 26, 2025, to qualify for the grant.
You are welcome to keep your lights up throughout the winter season.

Only one grant per business is allowed per year.

Applications must be submitted by 12:00 PM on Friday, November 14, 2025. Applicants will be notified of approval or denial by Wednesday, November 19, 2025.

To receive reimbursement, submit paid receipts by emailing them to jodi@downtownmarquette.org or bringing in your receipt to the MDDA office by 5:00 PM on Wednesday, December 31, 2025.
Total receipts equal to or exceeding $375 for full $250 reimbursement.
