The U.P. 200 is one of America's premier 12-dog, mid distance sled dog races that draws racers from across the United States and Canada. Starting in Downtown Marquette, racers make the 230 mile journey to Grand Marais with a return to Marquette along the same trail.
In addition to all of the restaurants and businesses in Downtown Marquette that will be gearing up for the UP200 spectators, several businesses and organizations in Downtown Marquette will be hosting warm-up parties between and during the new festival, all of which are open to the public.
UP200 & Midnight Run Schedule of Events
Friday
6:00 PM - Race track must be cleared and please, do not bring pets downtown.
6:30 PM – Opening Ceremony on the corner of Washington St. and Fourth St. for the 35th running of the UP200 and Midnight Run.
7:00 PM – UP200 START-Both the UP200 and the Midnight Run start in downtown Marquette at Washington and Fourth Streets.
8:30 PM – Midnight Run START – the Midnight Run starts approximately 30 minutes after the last UP200 musher has left the chute, but not before 8:30 PM.
