2024 BLUEBERRY FESTIVAL
POSTER COMPETITION GUIDELINES
Artists are invited to submit artwork for consideration as the 2024 Blueberry Festival poster image. The Blueberry Festival Poster Contest winner will be determined by a combined score based on an online vote open to the public and a panel of judges comprised of local artists, downtown business owners and public officials. Votes may be cast between Friday, May 3 through Friday, May 31 by visiting www.downtownmarquette.org. All entries will be on display at the lower level of the Peter White Public Library, throughout that time period for those who would like to view and vote for the artwork in person. Only submissions which meet the specifications described below will be considered.
SPECIFICATIONS:
· Only original artwork submitted by the artist or the artist’s representative will be accepted. All images used in the artwork must be original.
**NOTE: AI images will not be accepted in this competition.
· Only two entries allowed per artist.
· Two-dimensional artwork only.
· All media is eligible.

· Size must not exceed 11" x 17"
· No lettering or text on the artwork will be allowed except for an artist's signature, which should be no larger than 1"x3". Artwork submitted with lettering or text will not be accepted.
· Artwork must not have been previously reproduced. (Example: a past competition)
· Submit actual artwork; no slides accepted.
· Original artwork must be clearly labeled on the back of the piece with the artist name, phone number and title of the work.
· Artwork must be submitted matted, framed or otherwise mounted and gallery ready for display.
· Artists may submit up to two entries; however, a separate entry form is required for each piece submitted.
· Each submission must be accompanied by either a jump drive OR an email containing a digital image of the artwork sent to Mike@downtownmarquette.org
AWARDS:
The winning artist will receive a $300 cash prize
Recognition as the official 2024 Blueberry Festival poster artist.
The winning image will be produced on merchandise.

POSTER COMPETITION TIMELINE:
Deadline: 4:00 pm Friday, April 26, 2024. Entries must be received at the Marquette Downtown Development Authority Office:
337 W. Washington St., Marquette, Michigan 49855.
Pick-up Schedule: Artwork not selected will be available for pick-up beginning Monday, June 3 through Friday, June 28. The Downtown Development Authority will not be held responsible for works not picked up at this time.
Notification: Selected artist will be notified no later than Friday, June 7, 2024.
RIGHTS:
By participating in the contest you agree that after submission, your entry will become the property of the Marquette DDA and may be used for promotional purposes, shared on the Authorities social media accounts, and/or included in announcements and press releases.
The winning entry becomes the property of the Marquette DDA.
Except as used by the Marquette DDA, all artists, including the winner, will retain the rights to their work. Entry in the contest constitutes full permission to publish names of winners without further compensation. The determination of eligibility of entries and any interpretation of these rules is at the sole discretion of the Marquette DDA, and shall be final and binding upon all entrants.
The winning artist is to not use their design for their own promotions until after the Blueberry Festival event date of Friday, July 26.
