"Pondering Blueberries" Selected as 2013 Blueberry Festival Poster Artwork
Congratulations to Donica Hope Dravillas, the winner of this year’s Blueberry Festival Poster Contest. More than 800 votes were cast online and at Marquette City Hall to determine the twelfth piece in the poster collection.
A resident of Copper Harbor, Dravillas is a ceramic and glass artist who has recently taken up photography as a hobby. Her latest “Project 49918” serves as a window into the personality and beauty of Copper Harbor through photography. Calling it “a simple and familiar scene”, Dravillas’ photograph features her three year old daughter, Madeline, enjoying fresh blueberries against a black and white backdrop.
Still interested in seeing the entries in person? All entries will be on display at Marquette City Hall (300 West Baraga Avenue) throughout the festival. Official 2013 Blueberry Festival posters autographed by the selected artist will be available for purchase at Art of Framing (149 West Washington Street) and on the day of the festival - Friday, July 26.
